they told me I was 'too ambitious' when I suggested ways to improve efficiency.
Turns out, ambitious is code for threatening someone's laziness.
That comment stung.
And it wasn't just hurtful,
It revealed the kind of toxic environment I was trapped in.
they were not just feeding their ego but breaking me from the inside.
Honestly, I don’t even know if they even think of things like that.
Because for you to think about these things, you gotta Value Your Words.
Mean them when you say them.
You say something you would do? Then Do it.
You say you care? Then fucking care.
What I realized is that when words are just tools to manipulate, they lose all power.
If you had seen Game of Thrones until the last season (yeah I know the pain of having to sit it through to the end but bear with me, I got a point to make.),
You might have heard Jon Snow say this:
When you value your words, you would live by them.
I'm not asking for grand gestures here. Just more thoughtfulness.
Pause before you throw out harsh criticism or empty promises.
Just think ONCE (not even twice) before saying anything out loud.
Stop for a second before you say something that you feel is important.
Especially when you plan on bashing someone.
Cuz sometimes,
Words fucking hurt man…
That also doesn’t mean bottle everything all up and not say a word about how you feel.
In fact, it’s the opposite of that.
It's about choosing words that build up, not tear down.
This experience cemented my belief in the importance of integrity.
It's shaped the kind of career, and frankly the kind of person, I'm determined to be.
But how can we all create environments where words matter? I guess I could offer some tips here.
And before some of you go all hater on me and my age (24 at the time of writing this, if you were wondering),
“Oh what does this idiot know about life? He’s a fuckin baby…”
“Sometimes you gotta put up with dickheads to get the job done.”
“This is just what life is. You gotta put up or shut up.“
No.
I neither have to put up nor shut up.
And Neither should You.
We ALL Deserve Better.
So If you feel like you wanna trash me, please do.
Because I know that,
Hurt people hurt people.
Gary Vee taught me this.
So, I just really wish that you’re doing okay.
The truth is, I still struggle with this sometimes.
Letting go of negativity, finding my tribe... it's an ongoing process.
But these habits make a real difference. Here are some tips I've learned along the way...
Tip #1: Sweat Out the Stress
Ever notice how an intense workout can clear your head?
When I'm feeling overwhelmed or frustrated, hitting the gym is my reset button.
If you like going for a run, then go run.
A good yoga burn does the job?
Or just go for a long walk.
Exercise is an amazing tool for releasing those negative emotions and building resilience.
If you're just starting out, let me know down below how your workout went for you.
Tip #2: Fuel Your Fire Mindfully
Eat foods that truly nourish you, not just fill you up.
When you treat your body like the temple it is, your energy levels and mental focus will soar.
Think of eating right as an act of self-respect. Trust me this shit works. (SHIFT, sorry..)
Tip #3: Setting Your Non-Negotiables
What are your absolute must-haves for mental and physical well-being?
Maybe it's 7 hours of sleep, a daily walk, or 10 minutes of meditation.
Be Ruthless about prioritizing them.
The Non-Negotiables, they're the foundation that allows you to thrive.
No matter what negativity gets thrown your way.
These tips might seem simple, but trust me, they work.
Cuz after all, Simple Works Just Fine, right?
Remember, it's about consistency, not perfection.
